Jacksonville Fl Support Group Meeting May 17th

Hello Everyone,
Our next Jacksonville support group meeting is just two weeks away. We have two fabulous guests coming, Dr. Francis Buadi, hematologist from the Mayo Clinic Rochester MN, and Gene Kinney, PhD. Chief Scientific Officer, Head of Research & Development, Prothena Corporation. For those of you that don't know, Prothena is the company running the NEOD001 trial.http://www.clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01707264?term=NEOD001&rank=1. NEOD001 is a humanized monoclonal antibody designed to neutralize and clear soluble and insoluble amyloid aggregates in patients with AL Amyloidosis. Simply put, the hopes are that the drug will remove existing amyloid deposits from the body! Come learn more about this exciting trial and ask the doctors any questions that you may have. We will also discuss the topics that were covered at the recent ISA symposium on Amyloidosis. Muriel and I attended the entire conference where we heard 84 Oral presentations and had access to 162 Poster presentations. You can download a copy of the abstract book athttp://www.amyloidosis.nl/indpls/XIVth%20International%20Symposium%20on%20A myloidosis%20Book.pdf

We will meet on Saturday, May 17th from 9 am to 3 pm in Room 153 of the Stabile North Building on the campus of the Mayo Clinic. For driving directions or to view a map of the campus go to:http://www.amyloidosissupport.org/support_groups/florida_jax.html. As always, complimentary breakfast and lunch will be served. If you have any dietary restrictions, please let me know ahead of time and I will do my best to accommodate your needs. If you plan on attending the meeting, please RSVP to me before Wednesday, May 14th. This will allow me to order the correct amount of food for the group. I hope to see you all very soon!
