Confused by results

Hi,
I was on here a few months ago concerned about symptoms and ua showing light chains. My doctors insisted that the first results were a fluke so they ran them again Over the past few months. I just had them redone and will share the following results with you:

To me when reading the results it looks like the numbers are getting worse but my doctors aren’t wanting to say something is up due to my age. I have had this test ran 3x because with each result they seem to think it is a fluke. I know that you guys aren’t doctors but would like to hear input on this. Opinions mainly due to the experience you have had.
My blood work was good a few months ago. The only abnormality is in my urine.
Thank you
KDKmom

Anybody deal with this before is it something that I should look into and advocate for myself. Or is it not high enough to worry about

Hi,

FLC measurements should be done on blood, not urine. A 24 hour urine study is performed to monitor the amount of protein loss, which can signify kidney damage. I am attaching a bio marker spreadsheet that was developed with the help of doctors at the Mayo Clinic and Boston University Amyloidosis Center. The numbers and ranges on this form are the BLOOD markers that doctors should use to monitor how a patient is responding to treatment. Do you have a confirmed diagnosis of amyloidosis? I see that you live in South Dakota....I suggest that you make an appointment at the Mayo Clinic, especially since they are experts in the treatment of amyloidosis.

I would always get a second opinion and go to a center that specializes in amyloidosis. That may be the most important life saving move, if i didn’t get a second opinion I would be dead right now. Good luck
